The DSA Driving Theory Test has 2 parts which are taken at the same time. Before a candidate can book a practical test they must firstly pass parts of the driving theory test successfully. The 2 parts of the driving theory test are the multiple choice questions & the hazard perception test.
The first part of the DSA Theory Test is the Multiple Choice Question. A candidate must reach the minimum required amount of correct answers or more to pass this section. Currently the minimum pass mark for this section is 44 out of 50.
At the beginning of the multiple choice questions section you will have the option of taking a practise test. You will be using touch screen monitors to answer the question given.
For the multiple choice questions you have 57 minutes to answer 50 questions. After you have completed all the questions you will have the chance to go back through them providing you have not exceeded the time limit.
After a short break you will then start the hazard perception test. This part of the driving theory test require a candidate to watch 14 short clips on the monitor from a position as if you were the driving seat in a car. You will be required to click the computer mouse provided as soon as you see a hazard developing in the distance. The earlier you notice and react accordingly withthe mouse, the more point to will score per clip. 13 of the clips will have 1 major hazard to identify and 1 clip will have 2 major hazards. The point are graded from 0 - 5 points. Currently the pass mark for the hazard perception section is 44 out of a possible 75 points.
As with the multiple choice questions you will have the option of taking a short practise session after which the real hazard perception test will begin.
